Yes, it’s me again!

As you can probably guess by the lack of posts lately I’ve really been struggling with the hiatus in progress caused by the fact that my GP said she couldn’t prescribe the Triptorelin (Testosterone blockers) that the GIC had said I need. This, plus the fact that I had to do soooo much chasing up just to even get that far, meant that I dropped into a severe depression, even to the point of feeling suicidal at times.

Eventually Danny and my other friends managed to persuade me to go back to my GP, and I’ve been on Prozac for the past few weeks. I think it IS helping, although I am feeling quite tired most days.

However, today I had another appointment at the Gender Clinic, and that’s what this post is about … PROGRESS!!

My appointment was with the “other” doc this time, a young chap … very friendly, very helpful, very understanding (quite “hot”!) 🙂  The receptionist had a giggle with me before I went through and made me promise not to be a naughty girl when I saw him … it wasn’t easy! *slaps self*

He was very surprised, and somewhat appalled, to hear of all the problems I’d been having getting the treatment they’d arranged and the fact that, effectively, nothing had happened since my last appointment in October, so he called the senior Doc in and look what I have now …

YAYYYY !!

They said it’s daft that my GP can’t prescribe it herself because they have other people in Fife on it, but sometimes these things happen so they’re “pulling rank”. 🙂

They’re going to write me a letter too, and when I go to see my GP on Friday next week for my Prozac review I’m to take this prescription along with me, and the letter, and then arrange an appointment with the nurse (my little friend who’s so sweet and understanding) so that I can get the prescription made up in advance and she can stick it in me 🙂

I went to the hospital last week to get fitted for compression tights to help my legs and the woman in the Appliance Dept. there, who was also very understanding and caring regarding the Transgender situation, had suggested that I might be able to get the Gender Clinic to do me a referral to her for free wigs … two every six months. She’d given me her card to pass on at my appointment today, and Doc said there’s no problem with doing a referral letter to her, so I can get my free wigs !!! 🙂

My Appliance lady won’t be in until tomorrow, but I’ll call her in the morning to give her the news.

I told “Hot Doc” all about the way the problems over the past few months had impacted me, and he quite understood that it would have got me depressed and messed up my attempts to cut down on the smoking, but was really pleased to hear that I’ve managed to find some funds to invest in some vape gear and will be going on to the vape. 🙂  I’ve got my heart set on something similar to one of Danny’s kits. There is a red one, which looks almost pink, but even I’m not that brave (!) so I’ll go for the Powder Blue. 🙂

I really must get that ordered today …

Over the weekend Danny and I had been talking seriously about me going over to visit him for a couple of weeks. For a start we’ve never actually “been together”, although we do cam most weekends, and for my part having had to miss the past two trips over to China with my wife because of the situation with my legs I’m getting stir crazy being cooped up in this flat for almost three years now. I mentioned this to “Hot Doc” today, and he also thinks it will do me good to “get away” from these four walls for a while and relax a bit. 🙂

So, I’m to make an appointment to go back to the Clinic in 3 months so Doc can check that the T-blockers are all ok, and then I can start on the Estrogen patches. YAYY!! 🙂

I really do like going to the clinic because they’re all so friendly … the receptionist remembered me when I arrived and we had a giggle or two, and she was pleased afterwards that it all went well. She loved that I’ll be getting free wigs and said that even if I don’t get out much it’ll be good for me to have some to wear around the flat during the day, which is true.

Let’s hope that this time things go according to plan!
