It’s as if a weight has been lifted, not just from my shoulders but from those of the world.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been working with a colleague, D, from another local LGBT+ organisation on revamping and expanding a Transgender Awareness training module that the co-coordinator of our Trans support group and I put together a couple of years ago. Well, I say “working on”; I guess what I really mean is “trying to work on”.
As with so many things I talk to people, make notes, think about ideas, make mental plans, but actually getting down to action? Well, that’s something else. That final motivation and inspiration is often lacking, a situation that is oh too common since my accident some thirteen years ago.
I started this week very much not able to function in any real sense, but then something changed. A light began to emerge from the darkness.
Suddenly I felt it was possible to get down to working on the design aspects of the project and I knuckled down and produced the graphic that I had promised D I’d work on. They gave me great feedback on it and from there, in our weekly Zoom meeting yesterday, I really felt as if I could clearly see how all the various elements of the project would come together.
After our “extended” meeting I took care of some other responsibilities and then spent the evening researching, designing, reformatting, standardising … Not only are almost all the things that were on my to-do list now done, but today I’ll be carrying on with it, looking to get “ahead of the game” with many of the elements.
About twenty five years ago my then partner and I holidayed in Florida. People go to Key West to see the sunset. We, being complete space cadets, drove along the Keys through the night specifically to see the sun rise at Key West.
Life is still a struggle for so many of us, but with the rising of the sun comes a new day; new hope, new ambition, and a chance to start afresh.
This week the sun rose again, in more ways than one, and was greeted in Florida by someone you may well know is a special hero of mine.
Stay safe everyone.
Glad to hear you are feeling more motivated, Darling. Yes, he’s been a busy boy right from the start, standing up for the rights of so many who have been oppressed in the “land of the free”. Long may it continue until these things just become “the norm” and everyone can truly live in safety and be respected for who they are.
Thanks for the link. That’s the first time I’ve seen what an Executive Order actually looks like. KEWL !!! 😀
The Jersey shore misses Jon Bon Jovi! I am intrigued by a comment ya made about ya accident 13 years ago? Ya are over that trauma right! Excellent 🙏🐕♒️💯✔️
Hi there! Thanks for following my blog. 😀
In short, I was hit by a car when on a pedestrian crossing, took a blow to the head, and suffered a Mild Traumatic Brain Injury which wasn’t realised until later. Unfortunately I still live with the after-effects, but I muddle through. Life is for living!
Take care, and stay safe.

Yikes! Bones are my big “no go” area. *shudder*
As my brain processed what was about to happen I was fortunate enough to get a huge shot of adrenaline a moment prior to impact which enabled me to shift my weight so that my leg was out of danger. Not sure how I would have coped if that hadn’t happened.
Wishing you well!
