I wanna be …

I wanna be back in 1967.

I wanna be 5 years older than I was then.

I wanna be a cis-gendered hippy chick.

I wanna be in San Francisco.

I wanna be among the flower people.

I wanna be handing out flowers to strangers in the street.

I wanna be soaking up the colours and the vibrancy.

I wanna be high on the feeling of free love.

I wanna be …

I wanna be …

Oh, I SO wanna be where my soul truly belongs!! …

A year ago today …

… my daughter and I were at Wembley Stadium to see Bon Jovi.

I’d been to Wembley many times in the past to see sporting and music events but this was my first visit to the “new” Wembley.

To get my new YouTube channel started I thought I’d have a bit of a practice with some video editing software and post this so to have as a lasting reminder of a great day out.

Thank you, Tara, for getting the tickets and then “having nobody to go with”!! 😀

Of course, if you want to see how a PROPER video of the event looks, there’s always this …

I wasn’t going to blog today, but Cristina Rae MADE me do it!

Cristina Rae - America's Got Talent 2020

I don’t watch talent shows on TV.

I used to watch the “X Factor” off and on years ago, and have dipped in to some of the others occasionally over the years, but basically they bore me. Nowadays I pick up what I need from YouTube, especially when I see new videos of the incredible Amira Willighagen, or Andre Rieu (drool!) and his Johann Strauss Orchestra.

So, let me put this into context …

What do you miss?

Woodpecker and PrimrosesFollowing on from yesterday’s post regarding the Dorothy Relief Appeal I picked up a new follower from Aberdeenshire, the author Ailish Sinclair, and in browsing her blog I came across a post which reminded me so much of the house in Wales where I used to live. The relationship I was in while I lived there followed the course of all my other relationships and ended in a train wreck but, along with all the dogs, there were many things there to enjoy and be thankful for.

The (very weirdly shaped) garden with the stream along the side; the wooded bank opposite, the sound and sight of woodpeckers, and the clumps of wild primroses that decorated the bank in among the trees and holly bushes. As I’m writing this I’m also remembering the badgers that set up home there for a while, and the owls which hooted and screeched us to sleep on warm, summer nights.

Ailish’s blog post incorporates woodpeckers and primroses, two of the loveliest elements of that Welsh garden, and it got me thinking … while so many of us are sitting around with extra time on our hands, take a moment or two to think back. I don’t mean just to pre-Coronavirus time either. What is there in memories from the past that you really miss and would pick out as something you would want to live through again?

Stay safe.

In a state of shock. Good shock!

Those of you who know me well will be aware that I have struggled financially for many years, my only personal income being some meagre pensions which I had to draw out many years too early in order to survive after my accident almost 13 years ago.

That is about to change.

Desperate for the knife, but not where you’d think

Well here’s a blog post I didn’t expect to be writing during this lifetime.

I went for a coffee with some friends yesterday evening, and during the conversation I showed them the problems I have with my feet. These are numerous, (the problems, not my feet), but the main non-medical issue is the size of them.

In order to be able to get ANY footwear on I need to buy a UK size 13, (EU 47, US 14, CM 31.5) and, because of the high instep and circulatory problems I have, a wide fitting is also needed.

This makes buying Men’s shoes really difficult, and women’s shoes virtually impossible, something which really jerks up the dysphoria rating.

So many kind and generous people stopping by the stall and donating.

So many times I looked at my nails and fell even more in love with them.

So many times I wished I could be like this every day.

So many times I admired/envied the clothes other women were wearing.

So many times my feet said “Get off us!”.

So many times I ignored my feet.

So many times I wished it would rain Blue Lagoon.
